Honesty

Today I took the boys to Sam's Club to get supplies for work. As I am getting Liam out of the car Killian says to me, "Mom, you have a really Big Butt!" No joke, those were his exact words. My first reaction was to feel fat, but then I just started laughing out loud. It kills me that kids just say it how it is. I always have thought my behind was definitely not as small as I would like, but can you imagine if Killian thinks my bum is big, what would he think of a really chubby persons bum.

I think of the things that Killian says to me, and his honesty. He doesn't edit himself, what child does, they say it how it is. I wish sometimes that as we age we could keep that childhood honesty. We are taught to edit ourselves so closely. Can you imagine the world if we all were as honest as three year olds. We all might be living our lives a little different, maybe a lot better, maybe hiding out because we wouldn't want the world to tell us how it is.

That is what is so great about our children. They don't make up stuff to make us "feel" better, they just SAY IT LIKE IT IS!!

Oh. No. Do you know what this means for me? One day Killa is going to tell me that I have a HUGE butt. I hope to handle it like you did... Thanks for the heads up.

Seriously. My Abby is the absolutely most honest person I know...and I can handle it (mostly) - but, others' not so much.
For the record, I think you are very honest too. I like that about you a lot.

The honesty must show more now at this age because Ellie is VERY honest as well! She has no problem telling me I need to loose A LOT of weight! But you gotta love them for it!

Love the post, LOL. My son told me one time that I could get that special cereal that makes your butt shrink--ya know the one with the red 'K' on it?

Too funy!
