Cleanse :(

I had this wonderful idea that I needed a jump-start to a healthier diet. For those of you that know I went on the no sugar diet for 30 days…. Well, I FAILED… Surprised…probably not if you know me at all. HaHaHa

I made it approximately 10 days without any sugar. Although on the seventh day I ate one Hersey kiss. I talked myself into pretending it didn’t count because it was my Birthday (and I didn’t even have any of my birthday cake.)

After 10 days I decided I would allow myself some sugar, just not the amount I was consuming before.

Then I decided to go a step farther and do the 9-day Isagenix cleanse. What in the Hell was I thinking? For those of you that have never done the "cleanse," for the first two days you eat nothing, besides six little tablets of chocolate chalk. Really…they taste of chalk with a sprinkle of chocolate. You do get a yummy tea like substance to drink four times a day and then pills to give you energy. I didn’t realize the pills were to give you energy, until Blake watched me down one right before bed. When I told him it said to take two a day, and that I assumed one in the morning and one at night, he laughed. They are for energy and are supposed to be taken in the morning, oops!

I am only on day 2, I feel like a truck has hit me. I am exhausted, starving, emotional and ornery. I am hopeful that after the rest of the 9 days I will feel better. I thought this would be a good start to try to eat better. My theory: if you realize how yummy food is and how you need it to sustain life, maybe I could be more aware of what I was putting in my mouth. I know after going to Bahio last night for Blake a huge fried fish fried burrito that I would never take for granted anything yummy again I put into my mouth.

Today I am STARVING..but maybe for a better eating future. We will see how I feel by day 9. Wish me Luck!!!

Three Weeks Old!

Our baby birds are three weeks old already! Look how freaking cute! Well I think they are cute, everyone else thinks they are ugly. I get to see them move around and cuddle with each other to stay warm. It really is the sweetest thing….

I didn’t get to see their last baby grow up because we didn’t even know that she was there. :( So this time I am taking full advantage of watching them grow. Blake keeps getting after me, telling me that the parents are going to stop feeding them. I think that the parents know me well enough, because that hasn’t seemed to happen. Because I am spending so much time watching them I think it is going to be hard to give them away.

I am really excited because one of the babies is dark, maybe blue, like Gus (the Daddy.) I can’t wait to see when they get their colors!!

Best Friend

Rewind to April 23, 1993....Do you know what you were doing that day....Probably not, it isn't a day where something crazy happened in the world, but it was a day something crazy happened in a young girls world. That was the day that Blake and I had our first Kiss!!

That was about 18 years ago and today is Blake's 30TH Birthday. I can not believe we are 30. I really hate it, but I am the happiest girl in the world that I get to spend my life with my Best Friend. We have been through a lot in the 18 years of our on and off relationship...haha..poor Blake has had to put up with my craziness. Everyday that goes by I fall more in love with him. He not only is the best Daddy in the world, he loves me unconditionally.

I love you babe, and hope you have a wonderful Birthday!! Thank you for being my best friend. I love you more today than yesterday...I love you the Most :P

New Babies!

For those of you who do not already know this.... I have a small, ok large obsession with animals of all kinds. I would love to live on a farm so I could take in every animal that needed a home. I have decided to blame my OCD mother who wouldn't allow a bunch of animals in her home. (I forgive you Mom)

One of my favorite things about being a Mom is being able to adopt all kinds of pets for the kids, but secretly for me.

About 3 years ago Blake and I adopted Isabelle, a sweet hand fed lovebird. When Izzie became super protective of her cage we decided to get her a buddy. We went and picked out another bird which Killian named Gus. Because it is hard to determine the sex of birds, we had no idea if Izzie was really a female, and Gus was a male.

One morning when I uncovered the birds I noticed a small egg in the cage. I called the bird store to figure out what the hell I was supposed to do. They told me in order for the egg to hatch it needed to be fertilized. Which meant, Izzie and Gus needed to be female and male, but it also meant that they needed to sit on the eggs and then when the eggs hatched, they needed to feed the babies. The bird store told me it was super rare for pet lovebirds to have babies in a home environment. I figured I would just get them a nesting box and see what happened. I waited for quite sometime but nothing happened. I was told to leave the eggs in the box or the bird would continuously lay eggs and it could deplete her energy.

I never looked inside because I figured if the little birdies hatched they would be noisy, right, like they are outside in nests.

Around Christmas Blake and I were just sitting downstairs talking, Blake looked over and said, "that isn't our bird, there is another bird in our cage!" Not only was there another bird in our cage, she was damn near the same size as Izzie and Gus. That means that they sat on the eggs, they hatched, they fed her and she grew to a full size bird without us knowing!!!!

My Sister-in-Law Jackie adopted her and named her Florence. Which I am so happy about because I get to see her all the time.

This past Sunday I decided to take the nesting box out of the cage, I opened the top as I was sliding it out of the cage and..........

Can you believe it... I am a certified lovebird breeder. :) Izzie and Gus had more babies, horny little turds.

These little ones are almost a week old.. If you are interested in owning one or both of these little ones let me know. They make great pets, and have great personalities. They can be a little noisy at times, but they are really funny, Izzie even loves to play with the dogs through her cage.

Honesty

Today I took the boys to Sam's Club to get supplies for work. As I am getting Liam out of the car Killian says to me, "Mom, you have a really Big Butt!" No joke, those were his exact words. My first reaction was to feel fat, but then I just started laughing out loud. It kills me that kids just say it how it is. I always have thought my behind was definitely not as small as I would like, but can you imagine if Killian thinks my bum is big, what would he think of a really chubby persons bum.

I think of the things that Killian says to me, and his honesty. He doesn't edit himself, what child does, they say it how it is. I wish sometimes that as we age we could keep that childhood honesty. We are taught to edit ourselves so closely. Can you imagine the world if we all were as honest as three year olds. We all might be living our lives a little different, maybe a lot better, maybe hiding out because we wouldn't want the world to tell us how it is.

That is what is so great about our children. They don't make up stuff to make us "feel" better, they just SAY IT LIKE IT IS!!
