A day at the Playground!!

The kids and I were bored and sick of being inside. There was a break in the bad weather, we decided to head outside. Of course I brought the camera too, the clouds were out, it was perfect conditions to practice.

Swapped Heads!!

I am so excited...I learned how to swap heads in photos using Photoshop!! Anybody that has tried to get two little boys to look at the camera at the same time and smile knows how hard that can be. I just have to share it because it will make taking pictures of my boys easier. :)

Trash the DRESS!!!!

While at work one day my friend Jodie told me she wanted to “Trash the Dress!” For those of you like me that had never heard of this let me give you a quick definition.

Trash the Dress; After you get married and have all your wonderful wedding pictures, you take your beautiful dress and take pictures trashing it.. You ask WHY….well because you might as well have more than one use for it right!?!?

Well she was soooo excited to Trash the Dress that we couldn’t wait for after the wedding. She purchased another dress to Trash and we started brainstorming. She loves dogs and wanted to include them in the “trashing.” She thought that paint would be the most fun so the planning began. We decided to take the pictures at Ruffledale so she could include some of the daycare dogs.

It was messy, but a messy riot. The pictures turned out sooo cute. Krista, Jodie’s best friend took most of the pictures and I also got to practice my photo skills…..The pictures turned out awesome, it doesn’t hurt that she is a beautiful bride to be.

The craziest part of this….the dress actually came clean…so she might Trash it again up in Yellowstone Park….

Photo Fun

I have always really enjoyed photography. I dabbled in it a little in high school and took some photography classes. I remember getting to process black and white film in a dark room. It was really cool….but then life got busy and I had to focus on my future. I was not really good enough to make photography a part of my career. So I moved on and forgot how much I really enjoyed it.

Now that I have a career and two amazing little boys, Photography has crept up again as a great hobby. My two favorite things in life are my little boys and the dogs that surround me everyday. What better way than to capture the memories of these two things in photos.

I remember having Elisha Snow take pictures of Killian and watching how easy it looked. HA, Easy my ass, I thought I could purchase a nice camera and voila my pictures would look just like hers. Wow was I wrong….my pictures looked like poop. I did get a little discouraged at first, but I am a researcher, so I bought a bunch of books and read, read, read them. My pictures started looking a little better, but then I found out about a class my favorite photographer was teaching (Elisha Snow.) I signed up….and it has been so fun….I signed up for another one in may.
